Divine images from oaknyc

So, I must apologize for the lack of style inspiration on this blog.. although this space is sort of a mix of everything anyway it's no surprise i'm sure. Window treatments and paint colors are all i've been looking at, but this morning felt like a clothes day, so on with the fashion website perusing. I've really been focused on finding pieces in the used clothing stores rather than buying them new. Of coarse price has a lot to do with it.. but to be honest, i'd rather hunt for things and be completely thrilled when something perfect comes along then forking out the $80 right away. And, who knows if next year you'll be "into" the same thing anyway. Here are some fashion contenders: this $25 ikat/southwestern inspired vintage blouse is so perfect.. kind of wish it was my size, this $65 coat looks so "Pendelton for Opening Ceremony" it's not even funny, and these cute vintage moccasins.

I've been so inspired by interiors lately.. the living room decor in the photo above, the Toast images, the mint of the alarm clock I've been dreaming of. All this cold weather makes you look for comfort inside the home, and while mine is slowly being packed into boxes, I still enjoy being here. I will miss this place.

New vs. Vintage

Yeah.. I can't hardly believe this. Chloe Sevigny for Opening Ceremony animal print sweater at the top and my shop's vintage version. Holy price difference! $370 for Chloe's, $49 for mine.. I had no idea that Chloe was doing something so similar for this season.

Tonight is my sister's wedding rehearsal and rehearsal dinner. Figured I'd break out my new Lord & Taylor animal print dress for the occasion! Shoes are Aerosoles, belt Steve Madden.

Made some whole wheat calzones with garlicky sauteed spinach, basil leaves, cubed mozzarella, salami and homemade tomato sauce yesterday. Although salami isn't necessarily the most natural of ingredients.. I couldn't resist putting it in there for extra flavor. Hope you all had a lovely weekend :-)

So I have this thing...

with vinaigrette's. For some reason, whenever I make one homemade I find that it doesn't quite taste the way I thought it would. Store bought doesn't cut it either. Case in point: the greek panzanella vinaigrette. It probably has a lot to do with the fact that I'm partial to certain types of vinegar; plain white distilled and balsamic. The greek dressing called for red wine vinegar and I guess I'm not a fan.. at least in the way this recipe uses it. A few local restaurants, Sebastiano's, Toscani's and Austin's, make the best house dressings I've ever had. If only there were a way to get my hands on those recipes.. then I'd stop complaining.
